Some people may believe that bucket lists, also known as life lists or life wish lists, are for older people (thanks somewhat in part to the movie with Jack Nicholson and Morgan Freeman). But this couldn’t be further from the truth. Any individual of any age can start creating a bucket list. In fact, the younger a person is when they start their life wish list, the more likely they’ll have more time to accomplish more of the things on their list.
So, ready to create the bucket list that could change your life, but not sure how to begin? Here are some questions to consider:
What simple things have you always wanted to try?
What have you always wanted to learn? Languages? Dances? Any particular recipes?
Which places would you most like to visit on vacation?
What sports/activities/hobbies have you always wanted try and just haven’t? Run a marathon? What about painting a mural on the side of a building? Participate in a beach volleyball game? Play ice hockey? Participate in a game of paintball?
What major sporting events do you enjoy? What about experiencing these events (like the Superbowl or the World Series) in person?
Have you ever wanted to do anything extreme or unusual?
Are there any particular celebs that you’d like to meet?
What kind of contributions would you like to make to society?
What charities are you most moved to support?
If you were a millionaire, what things would you be doing right now? How many of those things you can do/start now regardless of money?
Other ways to come up with some ideas for your bucket list is to check out other bucket lists online at various blogs and websites. Check out this very creative life list that is broken up into several categories, or search amongst these bucket lists. You can also read up on books about creating your own list. (Do a search on Amazon or eBay/Half.com to find books at a cheap price.)
To be clear, your bucket list can have whatever you want on it. Your list can also be as lengthy as you want to be. In fact, having a bucket list with limits defeats the purpose of having a list, which is that there should be no limits to what you want to do in life.
There is a somewhat famous quote from the 19th and 20th century Irish playwright George Bernard Shaw—“Life isn’t about finding yourself. Life is about creating yourself.” In creating your bucket list and crossing things off your list, you will find you are doing just that—creating yourself. You might even figure out what it is you truly want to do with the rest of your life, whether that’s starting your own company, becoming more involved in charity work, or becoming a professional translator. The possibilities really are endless. And they should be. It’s your list, and it’s your life.

You probably think you want more money, a bigger house, a new car or a soul mate and so on?
Well, I’m here to tell you:
You don’t.
You actually don’t want anything else than what you have right now. You don’t want the present moment to be different from what it is.
What wants all the stuff is not you. It’s your ego.
So why does your ego want it?
Because your ego believes that happiness comes from outside of you. From things and from achievements.
“If I only had (insert stereotypical object of desire here) I’d be happy.”
But the truth is neither you nor your ego would. Not for long anyhow.
Your ego would probably gloat in the satisfaction of acquiring what it thought it wanted for little while in some sort of short lived rush but relatively quickly it would need another ego-fix to remain satisfied.
Didn’t you ever want something and then get it?
If so did your happiness and contentment last?
My answer to that last question has always been a definite no. I’ve gotten what “I” really wanted countless times but still it didn’t take long until I was right back where I was before I got it. Wanting more of what I didn’t have.
(If you have a hard time understanding the difference between the ego and the real you I suggest you read “A New Earth” by Eckhart Tolle where these things are explained further.)
Well then are things and experiences negative?
Not at all.
And it certainly doesn’t mean you can’t enjoy any of these things when you “have” them or when they are present in your life.
The important thing is to not confuse your happiness with getting certain things or on anything specific outside yourself happening in a certain way.
What happens when you think you need something outside yourself to be happy you see the distance between yourself and your goal and the further away from the goal you are and the more difficult it seems to reach that goal the more anxiety, stress and resistance you build up inside your body.
We all know that stress has a lot of different unwanted effects on our body and our mind so my advice to anyone who experiences this discomfort would be:
1. Realize it’s not you but your ego that wants things to be different because it believes it would be happy if they were.
2. Release the stress in your mind and body through meditation, EFT or why not try the technique I’ve found works the best.

Mental stress is a natural human reaction to situations that life throws at us when we’re not expecting it. It can cause physical as well as psychological problems and can escalate to severe anxiety attacks if those problems are not met head on.
One of the first treatments recommended for those with severe mental stress problems is some type of medication to help alleviate the symptoms they’re experiencing. The medications don’t work for everyone and it’s not an easily embraced idea for others who don’t care for the side effects those medications cause.
Those who don’t want to go the medication route will be happy to know there are other ways to beat stress that don’t involve the act of popping pills every day. There are several different options to choose from to lessen the negative consequences stress can bring.
Taking a long walk to clear your head is one of the best ways to alleviate stress. Walking is an excellent form of exercise for your body as well as your mind. You can walk out your frustration so that you’ll be able to come back refreshed and tackle your problems again.
Give your mind a break with soft, relaxing music. Our brains take in lots of information from the things that we read, hear and see every second of every day. Your brain is an amazing organ, but it’s not immune to overloads.
The overload can cause stress to escalate and bring on a number of problems for us, so give it a break. Listening to relaxing music will ease the racing thoughts and help us to think clearly when we return to our problems.
Find a hobby to do and be sure to make time for it at least once a week. Everyone needs to get out of the mindset of having to deal with problems and decisions within our lives. By giving yourself something else to focus on, you can gain a sense of accomplishment in an area of your life where your job and financial situation may not be up to par.
You could start a craft project, go golfing or find something else you know you’ll enjoy doing. Another option you could try is to treat yourself to a massage. Mental stress can cause your muscles to tighten and ache, making your stress worse. A massage can loosen up those muscles, which will loosen up your mind and you can then be ready to face your life again refreshed and renewed.
Don’t be afraid to let your emotions surface. If you’re so stressed that you want to cry, then let those tears flow. Built up stress has to come out somehow, so it’s a lot safer to let it out through tears than to wait until it explodes into uncontrollable anger.
If anger is your first reaction to the stress, let it come out in a controlled situation like a punching bag. Control your stress before it starts to take control of you. Medications are one answer to alleviating the stress, but they’re not the only answer. Find what works best for you and beat that mental stress in your life.

Transdental Meditation is a system of focusing the mind. TM (Transcendental Meditation) comes from the olden Vedic belief dating back at least 5000 years plus is a kind of meditation that applies a persistent repetition of a individual mantra. The Transindental Meditation technique was introduced in India in 1955 by Maharishi Mahesh Yogi (1917-2008). Maharishi Mahesh Yogi describes the Transcendental Meditation technique as one which requires no training, is straightforward to do, and can be learned by any person. This is why, he says, the method avoids attentiveness and effort. It is educated in a consistent, seven-step course in centers offering TM.
An important difference among the Transcendental Meditation procedure and other practices that engage mantras is in the manner the mantra, or sound, is used. The mantra is not chanted either vocally or mentally, but is rather a channel on which the attention rests. TM uses a range of Sanskrit mantras, each one of which is a short word or saying that is repeated in the psyche to help the personality to transport the psyche headed for a deeper level of realization.
The subject is handed a special sound or mantra to work with that has a unique and individual association with the being who meditates. The mantra can furthermore be thought of such as focusing without the application. The mantra is used to glide ones consciousness to the center of your essence. In Transcendental Meditation the mantra is not chanted either out loud or mentally, but is instead a channel on which the attention rests. Transcendental meditation uses a straightforward mental technique which allows the mind to gradually experience multifaceted cognizant states of thought.
The method is practiced morning and evening for up to 20 minutes every time at the same time as sitting contentedly with the eyes closed, except it is not suggested whilst lying down prior to bed time. The Transcendental Meditationtechnique is described as being effortless and natural. This form of meditation is so simple that even kids as young as ten can be able to be taught and follow it without any struggle.
It is suggested for all age groups in addition to people tend to feel much more clear and energized after going through the session. It is totally a genuine and effortless practice that takes you slowly but surely into a situation of serenity beyond conventional awareness. TM does not absorb any struggle or deliberation. The person gains from TM and they will pick up what they most need, and it does it in the generally effortless and enjoyable way, regardless of your education, brainpower, personal history or realization.
It is a device that be able to be used to eliminate or at least lessen the most basic reason of all nervous tension and strain, permitting the native flow of your vital energies to perform through your biology. For the most part people would use TM to improve the condition of their life and living standard and one fashion is by granting the body to tune to it’s natural frequencies. Whilst the body gets fantastic the mentality also experiences great. Since the mentality and body have a symbiotic bond with each other one affects the other regardless of the polarity of the state of one.
There are lots of valuable attributes offered by Transcendental Meditation:
- superior health
- more power
- more relaxed
- stress management
- individual recognition
- inner tranquility
- clear conception of problems
- clear thinking
On a more spiritual or metaphysical plane Transdental Meditation opens the consciousness to the boundless reservoir of power, vision, and intelligence that sits hidden inside everybody. Some call this the collective perception or the spirit center.

It may be true that as you get older, your memory also deteriorates. But this does not mean that if you are younger, your brain is not capable of memory deterioration. Aging is just one cause of memory loss, but there are other factors. Thus, if you want to prevent this, you may want to read these tips to a better your brain performance.
1) More Relaxation Period, Better Thinking
If you want to protect your recent memories, you should stay away from stress. Stress can trigger the release of cortisol, a neuro drug which can interfere with the brainís performance, especially with handling recent memories. Furthermore, with chronic stress, the part of the brain which handles recent memories may even shrink. If you want to prevent this from happening, you should learn to relax a little and release the tension from your body. You should never let stress overwhelm you.
2) Refrain From Cigarette Smoking
Cigarettes affect the flow of blood in your veins. Because of this, there may be a chance of reduced blood flow to your brain; and reduced blood flow means reduced oxygen. With lesser oxygen to consume, the brain may not function well as expected, hence the memory may be prejudiced.
3) Stay Away from Brain Toxins
As you may know, illegal drugs may cause harm to your brainís functioning. However, you should also know that prescription drugs, if misused, may also have the same toxic effect to your brain. Thus, you should always follow the prescription given to you be your doctor, and never self-medicate. This may affect your brainís normal performance. Prolonged use of drugs may cause memory loss.
4) Eat Healthy
Your brain functions according to the nutrients that it receives from the food that you eat. Thus, if you are deprived of certain nutrients, then it may have an adverse effect on the functioning of your brain. You most certainly would not want this to happen. Thus, as prevention, you should eat a healthy and balanced diet so that you will absorb all the vitamins and nutrients that your body needs. Also, you should stay away from junk foods.
5) Exercise Your Brain
Find ways to use and improve your thinking skills. Some mentalists propose techniques which are designed to improve mental skills. We all have the potential to possess a good functioning memory, thus it should be something that we can all improve. All we have to do is to find ways and try techniques that can effectively help us develop our potentials.
Most people believe that by engaging themselves into educational activities, they are improving their mental faculties. This is true, and you can try this even at home. Simple activities like crossword puzzles can exercise your brain. This may help your brain functioning to get better, if not, to prevent it from deteriorating easily.
6) Shield Your Brain
There is no point of improving the brain if you cannot protect it physically. You should always protect your head from injuries because trauma may affect the functioning of your brain. Even simple injuries should be avoided, because repeated minor injuries, if accumulated, may cause damage to your brain. Thus, you should try simple prevention, like putting helmets when bicycling, in order for you to avoid situations that may damage your brain functioning.
If you want to be able to think better, your brainís health is the key. Thus, you should keep it as healthy as possible and avoid all those factors which may expose you to mental deterioration.

Kinesiology is a complementary therapy which assesses imbalance in the body by noting how an arm or leg muscle responds under the challenge of light pressure. As well as helping all manner of physical and structural imbalances by means of lymphatic massage, acupressure points and nutrition, it is also a very powerful tool to help with emotional problems aswell.
Techniques such as EFT have been developed out of kinesiology. With kinesiology we are able to test a muscle and then retest it to see if the response changes when a verbal challenge is suggested to the client. For example, if a muscle relating to the brain or stomach was strong, then went weak after the suggestion of the word “cat”, we could reasonably assume that the client had a problem with cats which was affecting the muscle response and more specifically the stomach meridian. However, it needn’t necessarily be a fear or phobia of cats – it could be more specific, such as a pet that was ill, or allergy to cat fur.
Kinesiology is a holistic practice, treating the emotional, chemical, nutritional, structural, physical and electrical elements of the person. Treating fears and phobias also receives this approach.
Kinesiology has some excellent and proven techniques to deal with phobias – sometimes eradicating lifelong fears in a very short timescale. If a client visits me with a fear or phobia they want to resolve I would find out :
a) how long they have suffered
b) whether they can pinpoint an initial event which triggered it
c) what makes it worse and/or better
d) what difference it will make to their lives to be rid of it
e) on a scale of 1-10 how serious is it – ie, just by thinking about the phobia, what number 1-10 describes the panic they feel
By means of muscle testing I would then lock the response into the body temporarily. target the specific meridian which is affected by the fear and pinpoint flower remedies and nutrition (Vitamin B Complex is excellent) which will help the individual and with a combination of talking to the client about the fear, when it started and tapping on the specific meridian end points which are affected, reduce the clients fear from 10 to 5 and sometimes 0 in one session. Clearly this depends on the level of fear, how long they have suffered, other factors connected with the fear and how much they want to be rid of it. Throughout the treatment I would be holding Emotional Stress Release points and talking to the client the whole time. Sometimes a previously unknown connection surfaces, forgotten memories emerge which shed light on what appears to be a completely irrational fear.
These techniques can also be used with great success with panic attacks, anxiety, depression, stress and upset.
