Even though none of us were born with a negative spirit, the way we were raised, and the circumstances we found ourselves in as we were growing up has a lot to do with our attitude towards life. However, no matter what conditions you grew up in, at some point, it’s up to you to say, enough, and take actions to change things. If you don’t, there is no hope that anything will get better in your life. As a matter of fact, I can assure you that it won’t.

Unfortunately, most of us didn’t grow up in a household where we were told about the law of attraction and other laws of the universe or how the subconscious mind works; did we? This doesn’t mean that we grew up with bad parents or that we weren’t happy. No, not at all, but there is a difference between having grown up with parents who loved you and did their best to raise you, and parents who knew and understood how to teach their children how master health, success, wealth, relationships, and spirituality.

If you were born in a family that gave you all that, then you might have nothing to learn, but just enjoy your life in bliss at this point. But if not, it’s time to learn how you can build a positive attitude amid the negativity around you.

Why is Negativity the Most Prominent Mind State for Many People?

If positiveness was common change in our world we would never hear of war, crime, depression, theft, suicide, hunger, or even diseases. So, in case you were in doubt, most of our world is pretty much surrounded by negative feelings and vibrations. Then, because of new technology we have the media which is able to elaborate on such negativity by showing it to us live and talk about it for weeks, months and even years after the fact. They are doing such a good job that it’s not hard for anyone not naturally optimistic to lose any hope. However, if you don’t want to repeat the history of your parents and grand-parents, you must find a way to break though and break the cycle of negativity.

Why am I Talking About your Parents and Grand-Parents?

Besides the rest of the whole wild world, there is another world, much smaller, which has even more impact on our life. This world is called family. Our direct family is the most important world who is going to affect us as a person, and how we are taught to perceive things in life. The good news, however, is that we, as the human family, are getting closer and closer to our higher self as generations go by. If you take a look at your own background I am certain that you can see that.

For example, when my mother was a child there was no such thing as “listening” to what children had to say. As a matter of fact, my mother who used to love to talk was often made to “shut up” either with vocal warnings or by an adult’s hand on her mouth. Back then, there were very few people who would even have thought that this type of behavior on a child could have a very negative effect. This is just one example of the type of mistakes that adults use to make with children.

Today, however, most cultures understand that such behavior would bring about some type of negative effects on a child all the way to adulthood. But that’s now.

When my mother became a mother herself, she sure made sure that my brother and I could say whatever we wanted to say. ALWAYS. She knew first hand the frustrations of having an adult to make you shut your mouth when all you want to do is ask a question or express yourself.

In this case, the negative effects of such action stopped right there. However, that doesn’t mean that they all did. Some of the things that my mother “learned” as a child she unwillingly transmitted to her own children. This is why many of our deep rooted beliefs about money, achievements, relationships, God, life or death are not really coming form us, but before us. From generations behind us. This is why when I try to go beyond my fears; I am not only going beyond my own fears, but beyond my mother’s and even my grand- mother’s fears. It’s up to me to break the vicious circle, no matter what that may be.

We Are Taught Negativity by Default

We have been taught negative things, not by lack of love, but by defaults, which has had more or less impacted on our life. The point is to recognize it and do our best to snap out of it.

When I got to my teenage years I started to analyze a lot of things that I had “learned” by default and seriously started doubting them by using my own brain to see if they made sense or not. One of the first things my brother and I got rid of was superstition. My grand-mother was a superstitious machine and she passed some along to my mother.

My brother and I had two choices; we could keep the family tradition and be ruled by superstitions like my mother and grand-mother were, or we could just CHOOSE to cut it out by NOT BELIEVING in such thing. Fortunately for us, we chose the second option. The one choice only freed us from all the negative effects of superstition. Eventually, because we chose freedom from superstition we even helped my mother to get free as well.

How can you Build a Positive Attitude Amongst Negativity

The world is growing spiritually; there is no doubt about that. That’s why you are seeing all those blogs about personal development, many life coaches coming into the scene, spiritual growth seminars, self help books, etc. However, we are still living among the naysayers and even evil people out there. But this doesn’t need to stop us in our search for positive attitude, because positive attitude brings about positive results.

God or the Universe, whatever you want to call it, gave you a marvelous brain, and you need to use it. One of the most marvelous ways we can use our brain is to “question” things and think. Some people may do it more naturally then others, but we can ALL do it.

Choose to be with people who are more positive and up building, and less with people who are not. Develop a habit to read personal development blogs and books. Learn more about how you can change your subconscious mind programming and how to improve your life. Learn how to meditate and get acquainted with the person inside. By doing this you can and will be able to build a positive attitude amongst negativity.

So, it’s your turn. What do you have to say about building a positive attitude and what are you doing about it?

Have you ever wonder why?

In this post I am going to explain why some people rub you the wrong way and what you can do about it.

What do we Feel when Someone Rubs us the Wrong Way?

How do you feel when someone rubs you the wrong way? Most likely, when you are faced with someone who is rubbing you the wrong way you have an uneasy feeling. In order to be the recipient of such feeling you do not even need to either speak or touch that person at all. All it takes is to be in the vicinity of that person, and it’s enough to trigger the negative vibes.

We all have been faced with such feelings at one point or another. Why in the world would you feel anything “negative” in the presence of another human being that you do not know, and who hasn’t done anything good or bad to you? The answer is in the vibrations.

Do you Have to See it to Believe it?

As humans, we are raised and taught for the most part to understand MOSTLY the physical world in which we live in. On the other hand, our none-physical or invisible world is not only very much misunderstood, but forsaken all together. Yes, sadly, it’s as if it didn’t even existed for most people, and that’s what creates a lot of confusions about anything related to the unseen.

For example, there are high frequency sounds that you can’t hear, but does it mean that they don’t exist? Well, if you have any doubt, watch your dog. Now, you might believe that such “sounds” exist because you have been told or maybe witnessed the fact that dogs and many other animals can hear frequencies that the human ear can’t.

However, if we didn’t have dogs to prove to us that there are high frequency sounds that are totally none-existent for us, since we can’t hear them, would you believe it? Maybe, maybe not. The point is that it’s NOT because we CAN see, or hear something or even being able to prove that it exists, that it doesn’t. High and low frequencies that the human ear cannot hear do exist.

You Can’t See Vibrations, But they Do Exist

We certainly can’t see vibrations, but they do exist. When you find yourself in the presence of someone you don’t even know and feel uneasy, even totally uncomfortable, it’s because your brain is receiving the vibrations from that person. When such vibrations are not a match with yours, you feel that the individual in your presence is rubbing you the wrong way.

Some people are more sensitive to vibrations than others or may even be more sensitive to some type of vibrations than others as well. Over the years, I have become very sensitive to vibrations that emanates from other people, and to me it’s both a tell-tell sign of what they are sending out, but also what I am sending back to them. Let me explain…

Receiving Negative Vibrations

As I explain in my giveaway eBook 13 Steps To Attract Success, our brain is a broadcasting device. Just like a radio, our brain is able to broadcast energy as well as receive it. One type of such energy is vibrations which are sent from one brain to other brains. We can’t see, hear or smell them, but we can feel them. Vibrations translate to “good” or “bad”, “comfortable” or “uncomfortable”, at “peace” or “nervous” type of feelings. Such feelings are the result of what you are receiving from that stranger in front of you and what you are sending back to them.

Let me give you my personal experience-story with negative vibrations

During most of my schooling years I have been bullied by jealous girls who were dying with envy. I’m not saying this to brag, far from it. I was the only kid in my schools whose father had died prematurely, so any smart kid would have not been jealous of me (you would think). But kids don’t think that way.

The reason why they were jealous is that I was just one of the tallest, best dressed and most spoiled kids in the whole class. On top of that, I was rather a pretty girl too (even though I didn’t think I was back then). That’s all you need to be totally hated by your peers when you are a girl between the ages of 4 and 16. Some girls have tried to torn my clothes apart, scratch my hands and face, kick me in the butt, legs and ankles, and made fun of me in every way possible. Bullying didn’t even have a name back then, either.

What am I telling all that? Well, because of that early experience with jealousy I can pick up a jealous vibe faster than you can say “boo”. My brain is so used to this signal, which I have dealt with for years on hand, starting at a very young age, that it sends me perfect radars. Once I get the vibes of jealousy, even to this day, I find it very hard to deal with. My subconscious mind tends to send me 20-30 years back in history and I always want to panic.

However, my more mature and educated self of today, knows better. Once the bad vibrations have made themselves known and the “panic attack” has passed, I know it’s time to take control. When I come across that jealous (usually female) vibes it’s up to me to change it.

How Can you Switch Your Vibrations?

The only way you can switch from a bad vibe to a good vibe is by taking control of what you are sending out. Granted, you can’t get into other people’s brain and change their vibrations, but you can work on yours which will affect theirs.

If you are like me, when you are receiving negative vibrations you are in a state of panic. It’s not getting out a house on fire kind of panic, but it is, nonetheless, a form of panic because fear is involved. Why fear? Because when our brain is receiving vibrations that it translates as negative, it’s because our subconscious is feeling threatened. In my case, a jealousy vibration will make me feel threatened and if I don’t watch my reaction I would find myself on the defensive. However, I certainly can consciously change that. But how?

When you receive negative vibrations, the first step you need to take is to acknowledge it. Do not try to tell yourself, it’s just me or ignore it. If you feel it, then it’s there, no matter how you want to call it. The point here is to NOT let it affect YOUR own vibrations. When you feel that you are receiving negative vibrations from someone, react by sending positive ones. (I am not talking in a case where you would feel in physical danger). The best way to take on negative vibes from another person is by visualizing positive energy.

The best way to do this is by visualizing a blanket of white light and wrap the person who rubs you the wrong way with it. Every time you see the individual that rubs you the wrong way, see that light of good energy around them. This action will trigger the energy that you are sending out in a positive way and eventually the other person will receive this positive vibe. As you do this, try to smile. Smiling has a very calming and positive effect on the vibrations that you are sending out and it affects the recipient of such vibrations as well.

Do this every time that you are facing the person who you feel is rubbing you the wrong way and you will see a tremendous switch in their behavior as well as yours. They may never know what happened, but as long as one of the two knows how to take control and is aware of what’s happening, the situation can only get better.

This is a simple way that really works for me to switch from a negative vibe to a positive one. That’s how I have turned around situations when people have rubbed me the wrong way. The secret to make this work is belief and action.

You turn now! Did you ever felt that some people rubbed you the wrong way? What did you do about it?

Have you ever tried to break a bad habit or take on a new one using your willpower alone? If you have; how did it go for you? I would be willing to bet that you failed more often than not, if you have tried to take any life changing habits with the use of willpower alone.

What is Willpower?

Sorry to be so blunt, but “willpower” is really just an illusion. When you are trying to make drastic changes in your life with just the use of willpower you are setting yourself to fail. As a matter of fact, when people are trying to take actions based on their willpower, they are “shooting themselves in the foot twice”. How is that?

Well, first they are disappointing themselves thinking that they are weak, and second, they are trying to override their subconscious attention with their conscious attention which is really impossible to sustain long term.

This would be like trying to control your breathing consciously, while as we all know, your subconscious does a much better job. Imagine if you had to control every breath you take 24/7? You would stop breathing very quickly, because you wouldn’t be able to keep up with it. That’s exactly what happens with your willpower.

Willpower versus Subconscious Programming

We do not breathe using our willpower, we breathe subconsciously. That’s why we breathe when we sleep and even when if we are knocked unconscious.

The same goes with subconscious habits and everything you do that really comes from a subconscious level. Trying to override it with your conscious is a lost battle. It’s like if you were consciously trying to control your breathing. You are trying to control an action or habit “consciously” when such action or habits is mainly controlled subconsciously.

This is why many people who are trying to stop smoking, lose weight, save money, stop procrastinating, and many other things fail. They are failing because they may have consciously decided to take on a new habit, but unless they are fixing the problem at its root, which is at the subconscious level, they will not succeed.

Let’s say that this week you are telling to yourself, I am going to stop procrastinating and I will take so and so action starting tomorrow. So, when tomorrow comes around you are all motivated and you start taking actions. Then, you even manage to keep this up for a week or so, but what happens over time? You get distracted and you go back to your old habits. You see, that’s the problem with our conscious, it gets distracted very easily. As a matter of fact, it’s not IF your conscious will get distracted, it’s more like WHEN. This is the fundamental reason why willpower is not enough to change your habits and ultimately your life.

Does this Mean that you’re Weak?

Does the fact that you can’t really control your willpower long term make you a weak person? Most certainly not. The fact that you can control your willpower only to a limited extent is because willpower is not the RIGHT tool to use in order to make drastic changes or breaking bad habits.

If you are a reader of this blog or any personal development blogs teaching about the subconscious mind you know that the subconscious works like a tape recorder. Unless you erase that tape with a new recording, you will still be hearing whatever was recorded on it. This is why conscious efforts CANNOT override subconscious programming. The blueprint of your subconscious mind will ALWAYS take over because it’s much, much more powerful.

Overriding Willpower by Going Beyond the Critical Factor

I am sure that you’ve got the point so far and understood that in order to be more effective with your plans and decisions you need to affect your subconscious rather than your conscious. Now, why is this easier said than done? Well, it’s because your subconscious mind is protected by what we call the Critical Factor also known as Gatekeeper. In order to put new data into your subconscious mind you need to go beyond that Gatekeeper.

The Critical Factor has a purpose, which is to protect you against external information that would not serve you well. However, since the subconscious is incapable of logical reasoning it will protect you just as well against good things. On top of this, the subconscious will always take the path of least resistance and it doesn’t like change. Against this, willpower has no chance.

This said, it doesn’t mean that you can’t change your subconscious blueprint. You do. As a matter of fact, there are two ways, to do this. One I like to call the hard way, which is by using your conscious mind with relentless repetitions, and it will take months to years to see results. The other, the easy way, which is using a medium that will open the Gatekeeper’s doors wide. This medium is called self-hypnosis.

Self-Hypnosis versus Willpower

Unlike willpower that can be activated only with the conscious mind, and as a result generate little achievements, self-hypnosis, can be used to connect directly with your subconscious mind. Self-hypnosis allows you to bypass the Critical Factor (Gatekeeper) and connect directly with the subconscious mind which is the area that you need to reach in order to make any drastic change.

The part of the subconscious that is resistant and not open to change is the Critical Factor. Self-hypnosis keeps the Critical Factor at bay (so to speak) so, the subconscious mind is easily reached. It’s like if you wanted to come into a guarded castle but couldn’t because of the guards at the door. If you could put the guards to sleep, however, you would be able to get in very easily.

Once the gatekeeper is asleep any new idea can be put into the subconscious mind. The best and easiest way to do this is with self-hypnosis.

So, what’s your experience with willpower? Have you tried methods that can get your there faster? What are they? Have you used self-hypnosis before? I love self hypnosis! I do a 30 minute session every evening. What about you? Let us know in the comment area.

Laughter is a universal language that everyone on earth, regardless of where they come from, can understand. Laughter is a gift to the human race, and something we are born with. Babies start smiling at only a few weeks old and laughing only after a few months, way before any syllables can come out of their mouths.

Do you remember how often you used to laugh when you were a child? When I was a kid I had burst of what we call “crazy laugh” as the literal translation to the French expression, what is called giggles or belly laugh in English. Unfortunately, we tend to lose this ability to laugh hard as we get older. As a matter of fact, studies have shown that the average child laughs around a hundred and eighty times a day while the average adult laughs only a dozen times a day.

So, why is it so important that we laugh in our daily lives, and what can we do to make us laugh more?

The Physical Benefits of Laughter

Laughter has physical, psychological and emotional benefits and we should not take laugh lightly “so to speak”, but find ways to laugh on a regular basis. Why am I saying this? Well, let’s see what the benefits of laughter are, and why you should laugh every day.

As most of us know, but worth a recap, laughter releases natural chemicals in the body called endorphins. Endorphins promote a sense of well being. Laughter boosts the immune system, relieves stress, decrease body pain, improve blood flow and blood vessels functions and even improves weight loss. Laughter brings the mind and the body into balance and relaxes your muscles until much after your laughter is over.

Indeed, laughter is a natural medicine that won’t cost you a dime and that has no side effects, expect those that you only wish for.

The Psychological and Emotional Benefits of Laughter

Your sense of humor is one of the most powerful tools you have to make certain that your daily mood and emotional state support good health.

Paul E. McGhee, Ph.D.

Laughter has many emotional benefits. When you laugh your mind is in bliss. While you are laughing it’s impossible for you to be able to concentrate on anything negative. You can’t feel bad, sad, angry or anxious when you laugh. A simple way to describe it, laughter makes you feel good. As any student of the law of attraction knows, feeling good raise your vibrations and high vibrations bring more positive things into your life.

Laughter is also a relationship enhancer. It brings people closer to one another, it lessens judgmental behavior and improves forgiveness. There is absolutely no down side to laughter and it really helps you to be more in alignment with every positive psychological and emotional aspect of your life.

What Does Laughter Has to do With Prosperity?

As I mentioned above, laughter raises your vibrations and vibrations have everything to do with what you attract in your life. When your vibrations are low it’s usually the result of feeling bad, sad, depressed, doubtful, angry, anxious and all such negative feelings. When you are feeling negative emotions, your vibrations are low and you are bringing about results of the same vibrations which means that you are bringing negative results into your physical world.

Laughter, on the other hand, will annihilate all such negative vibrations and replace them with healthy vibrations that are looking to line-up with positive results. In the end, positive results will bring you closer to the prosperity you are after.

How Can you Increase your Opportunities to Laugh?

First thing you need to do to be able to laugh more is surround yourself with fun people.

Life has enough drama so we don’t need to surround ourselves with people who have no sense of humor whatsoever and who take everything seriously. Laughing is contagious but, so is gloom. If you surround yourself with gloomy people it will most certainly affect you. On the other hand, if you surround yourself with people who like to laugh and who enjoy life, it will rub on you, and ultimately you will benefit from that.

I try to avoid gloomy and negative people by all means. The more I surround myself with happy people, the happier I am.

Laugh at Yourself

Too many people are taking themselves too seriously. Laughing at yourself is the best way to make it through the day, no matter what happens.

Few years ago, I was in a department store with my mother and aunt and my aunt and I needed to go the bathroom. I guess we waited too long, and we really had to rush pretty fast to the restrooms. Because of this, by mistake we entered the men’s rooms. There was nobody in there, so we just went each one into a stall without realizing that we entered the men’s rooms. As I came out I saw a man there. He really looked terrified and so did I. When I realized that we were in the men’s room I really panicked and was yelling at my aunt to get out of there like from a house on fire.

I felt so embarrassed for a moment. However, later, thinking about this made me laugh so hard, my stomach hurt. That guy’s face, when he saw a woman in the men’s room was a mixture of confusion, surprise and disbelief. Then, I can still see my aunt and I running out of there like something very dangerous was pursuing us. Frankly, that was a funny situation. To this day, I can’t help but laugh when I think about this.

Do you laugh at yourself or do you take everything seriously? Life is not always fun and things that happen to us are not always laughable, but unless it’s really serious, do try to see the funny side of it. Keeping a good spirits at all time is using the law of attraction to your own benefit. It works and it never fails.

So, when was the last time your laughed hard? Please, do tell… in the comment area below for the world to know and laugh with you!

This week I wanted to introduce you to a guest post by Farouk Radwan. I hope you enjoy it!

Most people know that the subconscious mind is very powerful and that it has much more power than the conscious mind does, however, still a lot of people fail to make good use of the power of their subconscious mind.

According to a study, your subconscious mind can receive up to 2 billion bits of information per second! Think about the power you could have if you managed to make use of all of your subconscious mind’s power?

In this post I am going to tell you about five ways that will help you make perfect use of your subconscious mind.

Here are 5 simple ways you can use the power of your subconscious mind to improve your life…

Sleep on your Problems

A study has shown that the mind organizes its thought at night, and as a result, this gives you an increased problem solving power.

One of the best ways to make use of the subconscious mind’s power to solve problems is to sleep on problems or in other words not to make a decision before you sleep on it. Most problems will be resolved over night because of the power of the subconscious mind.

Use Creative Visualization

The subconscious mind can be given orders using images, videos and visualized scenes. Let’s suppose that you want to reach a certain goal, the more you visualize your goal the more you will be giving your subconscious mind an indirect order to pursue such goal.

Most sport champions visualize their victory before they go for the games, in order to use the power of their subconscious minds. If you are having a hard time visualizing, why don’t you learn how you to visualize what you want? Practice makes perfect. Visualization is a very important part of our creativity.

Program Yourself with Positive Media

Motivational songs, motivational movies, inspiring quotes or any other sort of positive media can program your subconscious mind indirectly and help you to have a more positive attitude towards life. Do your best to get yourself exposed to as much positive media as you can. On the other hand, avoid negative ones, as they will also affect your subconscious mind in a negative way.

Get a Better Understanding of Your Emotions

Emotions are the way your subconscious mind uses to contact you. Most people get this idea wrong and try to escape from bad emotions. The right thing to do is to understand why your subconscious mind is sending such emotions, so that you can better communicate with it and correct your path.

Let’s suppose that the emotion you have was anxiety; in such case you need to examine your thoughts – what thought was triggering your feelings of anxiety? This will help you find out why your subconscious mind is sending you such negative emotion.

Most probably, you will find that your subconscious is trying to send you a message such as “you lack certain skills and you need to learn them”, “You need to take action”, “you need to take another road”, “it’s time to move forward”,” it’s time to change”.

Negative emotions are signals that you need to get out, so to speak, of where you are now. Take action to make a change. It doesn’t have to be a drastic action. Take one step at the time.

Understand the Subconscious Mind’s Rules

There are certain rules that govern your subconscious mind. For example, one of these rules states that you get what you focus on, which means that if you believed in something you are going to find clues that proves its existence everywhere.

Let’s suppose that a person believes that he doesn’t look good, in such a case, whenever that person gets rejected he will quickly assume that he was rejected because of his looks, because he was focused on that idea. When you become focused on an idea your subconscious mind forces you to encounter what proves it everywhere. Remember, your subconscious mind always goes along with your deep down beliefs.

This is because what you believe, what you focus on, and what you vibrate, the law of attraction will manifest for you. No matter if it’s a good thing or a bad thing. This is why focusing on the positive is so important.

These were just a handful of examples of the subconscious mind’s rules. When you understand the rules of the subconscious mind you will get to know yourself better and you will be able to make the best use out of it.

What are you doing to improve your results using your subconscious mind? Please, do tell in the comment area below!

Are you grateful? Do you take time to appreciate what you have?

Many people spend their whole life seeing their glass half empty instead of half full. We all know people like that, don’t we? But, before I blame anyone else, let me mention myself. When I was a teenager and a young adult I spent more time complaining about what I didn’t have (or felt I didn’t have), than time being thankful for the good things I did have.

In all humility, even though I’ve always been a pretty girl, I managed to find all the little things I didn’t like about my face or body and complain about it. When I did, my mother would try to scare me by saying, “don’t offend God, or you will really have something to complain about”. Such comment from my mother would really have the desired effect and scare me enough, so I would stop – just for a while anyway, and just enough to realize that I was actually blessed with nice features and had nothing to complain about my looks.

What about you? Do you remember a time in your life when you didn’t appreciated what you had? Do you appreciated what you have today, or do you still have to work on that? Is your glass half full or half empty?

Thinking back about my own life, I feel that I really didn’t see the glass half full when I was younger. I really had things going for me, but because I was really not seeing them, those good things went away from me for a long while. My lack of appreciation attracted what I was complaining about and pushed away the good things. That’s what happens when you see your glass half empty.

Yes, this is serious stuff. Lack of gratitude and complaints will bring you things that will reflect that.

At the time, I knew nothing about the law of attraction, the subconscious mind or anything that I’ve learned in my study of the mind. With the knowledge that I have now, however, I can look back and see exactly where I went wrong and can use my own experience to guide people who may not be able to see what they are doing by not SEEING what they should be grateful for and what they should be appreciating in their life.

Why Should you Be Grateful for What you Have?

Well, the very first reason you should be grateful for what you have is because it helps you recognize and focus on the positive, versus the negative. It helps you not to take anything for granted, be overall happier in your life and attract more things that will help you maintain this happiness.

When you wake up in the morning, before you get up, start thinking about all the positive things that you have going on in your life. Are you going to get up and stand on your feet? Be thankful that you have working legs. Are you healthy enough so that you will be able to accomplish all you have to do that day? Be thankful for that. Once you’re up, are you able to head to the kitchen and have your cup of coffee, breakfast, or whatever you like to have in the morning? Be thankful for that.

Once you’re up and ready, do you have a job to go to? Do you have your own business to work? Be thankful for that. Do you have enough to eat for the day, maybe too much, even? Be thankful for that. Do you have plenty of clothes to choose from? Does everything seem to work as it should be? Be thankful for that.

My point is that you could take every little thing that you take for granted every day, and be thankful for them. There is always a reason to be thankful for. It is found even in the least suspected places.

As some of you already know, I’ve lost one of my two kitties 6 month ago. He was diagnosed with a pretty advanced form of lymphoma and I was told by the vet that he had about a month to live. I tried very hard and did my very best not to believe the doctor, and was very hopeful especially when he seemed to get better after she had remove some water from his lungs.

However, three weeks later his healthy deteriorated, and eventually he couldn’t eat, drink or even sleep anymore. Not wanting to see my kitty suffer one more minute than he had to, I called my mobile vet to put him to sleep at home. 6 months later, I am still not over the death of Tony. I loved him so much and I miss him so, so much.

So, What do I Have to be Thankful for When I Think about Tony you May Ask?

Many things! I know that he had a great life. Even a friend of mine told me that one thing I didn’t have to worry about was regrets, because I treated that cat like a king and he never had a bad day in his life. I am so thankful and happy for that. I am grateful for the joy he brought to my life and the joy I brought to his. I am grateful that he didn’t have time to suffer long at all and died peacefully in my arms. Even though I can’t even write this with dry eyes, I am truly grateful for all of that. I am also grateful for the fact that his sister, Sophie, is still with me which helps me in my grief tremendously.

From the law of attraction point of view there is all the more reasons why we should be thankful, because according to the law of attraction, the more we are grateful, the more we are attracting things to be grateful for. Anyone familiar with the law of attraction knows that we attract what we focus on and what we vibrate according to our emotions. When you focus on what you are grateful for you become happier. When you’re happier you sent out positive vibrations. Positive vibrations attract positive events in your life.

When you really get that, you start being grateful for every little things and see your glass half full and no longer half empty. Before long, your life start to change for the better.

So, your turn now. What are you grateful for? Do tell!

The most known form of sabotage is procrastination, but there are other forms of self sabotage that prevent us from succeeding.

People who sabotage themselves do it for the most part subconsciously and they are usually showing a pattern. For example, there is that over-weight guy who always gets all his weight back, even though he managed to lose over 50 pounds. There is that woman who always ends up with a violent partner even though she had sworn she would never do it again. Then, there is that person who always managed to have their money disappear even though they did well for a while and accumulate a good saving.

Why are we Sabotaging Ourselves?

There are several reasons why we may be sabotaging ourselves – most of them are coming from our deep down beliefs. Recently a marketer friend of mind was telling me over a blog comment reply about someone she knew who willingly refused an incredibly great offer to make more money as her own boss at home doing the same thing she was doing for a boss for less money. Why was that woman saying that she couldn’t do it? Because she said that she was totally incapable to discipline herself and would go to the beach instead of working.

Because of her lack of discipline she had to take less pay, more stress, less time doing what she liked and less quality time with her family. I would say that this is sabotage on steroids. This type of sabotage comes from some deep down beliefs that are no longer conscious, but 100% subconscious. If this woman was one of my clients I would treat her as someone with very low self-esteem and lack of self confidence.

The two biggest reasons why we procrastinate and sabotage ourselves are low self esteem and lack of self confidence. This is why we need to arm ourselves with three important shields that will protect us from harmful strong emotions that sabotage our results.

Shield #1 Against Sabotage – Having a Plan

I’m sure you’ve heard the phrase “if you fail to plan, you plan to fail”. This phrase is very popular because it’s so very true. Failing to plan is like letting your boat out to the waves without a stirring wheel. You don’t want your life to be abandoned to the unsecure waves of life, do you? When you are at sea on a boat, whether you are the captain of that boat or not, you want to be sure that the boat is driven, not abandoned to the waves.

This is why you must have a plan, also known as a goal that will drive you through the right path to get there. The stronger your plan the less likely you will sabotage it unless your desire is not strong enough and needs a little help. If this is the case, then you need…

Shield #2 Against Sabotage – A Support System

A support system can be a mastermind group, a mentor or a coach. Whatever avenue you might choose to support your goal, the purpose is to keep yourself on the right track and help you SEE your goal and FOLLOW your plan no matter what.

Sometimes a boat has to go through storms. Some are small and some are big, but whatever the storm may be, the goal of the captain of that boat is to get through it and keep on going until he reaches destination. To go through the storm, the captain is usually not alone; he has a whole crew with him that is going to help him to make the boat comes out of that storm in one piece and reaches destination. This is exactly what a support system will do for you.

Your mastermind group, your mentor, your coach or any other support system you may choose or have, will help you to keep your goal alive and follow your plan until you get where you want to be.

Such support system will help you find out the root of the problem if there is one. most likely it will be found in your subconscious belief.

Shield #3 Against Sabotage – Your Belief

I know I put this so very important shield against sabotage last, but don’t be fooled, this is the MOST important shield against sabotage you will ever have. That lady, mentioned above, who refused a dream opportunity to work from home at her own pace with more money and less stress has a belief problem. Yes, this kind of situation (if the person is sane) can only exist because of some defeating belief issues.

The problem with beliefs is that no one can get into your head and change your beliefs for you, but YOU and only you can take some steps to get into your own head and do this. Granted, willpower alone will not be enough to change your beliefs. There might be much more that needs to be done to change your beliefs. This is an inside job.

Thankfully, there are so many tools that can help you to improve and change your beliefs that I couldn’t name them all here. Most of the tools that I use myself are available right here on this blog. To name a few, you can read tutorials about beliefs. You can use self-hypnosis, practice EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique), use vision boards, or use meditation materials.

No body is perfect, we are all a work in progress, but we can – if we take actions, get rid of our emotional baggage and stop self-sabotage.

What are your thoughts on that? Are you self-sabotaging yourself? Have you found a way to stop self sabotage? Let us know in the comment area, down below!

Have you ever noticed while watching a movie that when the camera focuses on a subject the background is blurry? This is because the lens of a camera cannot focus on two subjects at the same time. If it focuses on the foreground it cannot focus on the background and if it focuses on the background it cannot focus on the foreground. The camera lens can only focus on one item at the time. This actually serves the film maker. He can use this quality of the lens to make you “look” at what he wants you to pay attention to.

Our brain works pretty much the same way the lens of a camera does. The brain cannot really focus on two things at the same time. So, if you are focusing on one thing, just like the camera lens does, your brain won’t be able to focus on something else at the same time.

That’s what focus is all about – giving your attention to one thing at the time, so it can get all your attention at this given moment and leave everything else in the background. Focus has a purpose – getting things done and going somewhere.

If you lack focus, you can’t get anything done. Everything you do will be half way done and the end result will not be good. This includes achieving your goals. Focus is very important in every areas of our life. So, let’s see how you can improve your focus and get things done.

Before I keep going on the subject, however, I wanted to mention that this idea to write about “focus” came to me last week when I was asked by Hulbert Lee to write a review about his new e-book Ultimate Focus Guide. If you would like to know what the book is about or read my own review about it just check it out right here, right after you’ve read this post.

Where Do Distractions Come From?

Distraction is the number one enemy of focus. People who are easily distracted usually have a very hard time focusing. A very known “focus inability syndrome”so to speak, is called ADD (attention deficit disorder). Many people who have not been diagnosed which such disorder do, in fact, display such symptoms. Personally, even though I was never diagnosed with such disorder, I firmly believe that I was affected by it.

There are two types of distractions that we need to fight against on a daily basis. These two types of distractions are external and internal. External distractions, also called environmental distractions could be your phone, the TV, your inbox, you kids, your house shores, so forth and so on. You internal distractions on the other hand are “emotional” such as procrastination, depression, negative thinking, emotional breakdowns, self sabotage and other personal issues you may have.

All such issues, whether they are external or internal will prevent you from fully focusing on any constructive action. Any camera which has a broken focus lens won’t be able to shoot any images whether sill or moving that would be of quality. To get quality, you need focus.

Where Does Focus Come From?

Focus comes from the brain. Our brain, just like that camera in our example is built in such a way that we can activate it to focus when we need to.

In his e-book, Hulbert Lee explains how the part of our brain called the Reticular Activating System (RAS) is the part that helps us focus. This part of our brain as small as our little finger contains about 70% of our brain’s nerves cells. It’s the RAS of our brain that helps us screen out information and allows us to pay attention.

In order for our brain to be more efficient at focusing we can take physical steps such as eating better, sleeping better, exercising more, and so on. And we also can eliminate distraction and improve our mind functions using meditation and other mind enhancing device.

Focus is also improved by strong desire, visualization, and self motivation. You can make focus a habit, like any other habits you may have.

How to Make Focus a Habit

It takes no longer than 21 days to take on any habit. This means that if you repeat an act for 21 days in a row it will become a habit. Knowing this fact, you can make focus become a habit.

How we pick up a habit, good or bad is by practicing it. Doing something over and over; that’s how people develop skills. Athletes and artists, for example, develop their skills by practicing. They are focusing 100% on refining their skills.

You can exercise on focusing just like you would exercise your body by doing pushups. For example, you can concentrate on focusing on a task for 10 minutes every day. When those 10 minutes of focus are become routine and easy, you can increase the length to 20 minutes. You can increase the duration of your focusing exercise as time going on. With desire and practice you can develop your focus ability.

The key is to focus on a specific thing for a specific amount of time. If you follow this daily routine exercise faithfully, you are bound to improve your focus.

So, what’s your story? Do you have a hard time focusing or is it easy for you? Please, tell us in the comment area below!

This is the case of both the small as well as the big decisions that you are making.

So, in this post we are going to analyze how much decision making is influencing your life into being what it is today, and how you can make better choices in your decision making in order to change your results and gravitating towards the life that you want.

The truth of the matter is that if you are unhappy with your life right now, it has almost everything to do with the type of decisions that you are making. Changing such decision will obviously change your results.

The Power of Decision Making

Decision making has a snowball effect. Each decision that you are making will have a chain events attached to it. That’s what makes decision making very, very important. The small decisions that you are making, such as what to wear or what movie to watch won’t of course have much impact on your life of course. However, some seemingly small decisions you are making may turn out to be not small at all in the end.

What happened with people addicted to drugs or any other substance? They made that seemingly small decision to try it once. What the heck, just once! However, is that seemingly small decision that led to a craving. Then, they made another decision which was to give in to such craving. Such decision led to addiction.

This is only an example; there are many “small” decisions which have huge impact in people’s lives every day.

Personal development mentor and business man, Garry Robert, explains in his book The Millionaire Mindset that he comes from a family that was affected by heavy drinking, therefore, he made the conscious decision NOT to drink. Ever. He mentioned that for him it’s very easy to refuse an invitation to have a glass of bear on a hot summer day. Why is it easy? Because, he made the decision, ahead of time, NOT to drink, no matter what. Period.

This decision has protected him from falling into his background pattern of heavy drinking.

Everything is about decision making. So, where do you stand in this area? How is your decision making doing? Do you tend to make good decisions or bad decisions? The results that you are reaping should give you the answer to these questions.

Not Making any Decision at All

Not making any decision at all is also decision making. It’s making the decision not to “move forward”. Staying in a status-quo is a decision. Such decision may be self-imposed by fear or other issues, and this means that you need to watch your thoughts and see what is preventing you from making decisions to improve your life.

Sometimes, we can also take too long to make a decision and a great opportunity maybe passing us by because of it. This fall into the same category as not making decision at all. Missing the bus because you got to the bus stop to late is the same thing as never getting to the bus stop at all.

Letting Other People to Make a Decision for you

This is a very big one and I know all the effects of it personally, since one very important decision I made 10 ago was based on listening to someone else telling me what to do.

10 years ago I was faced with the decision to go back home to France or stay in the United States. My own decision was to go back home. I had just got divorced and didn’t really have any friends and no family here. My only family was my two cats, and I was ready to pack them up with me and fly them to France (no way I would leave my kitties behind).

So, I had made my decision, I was mentally prepared already, and I was preparing myself physically as well to get my stuff and pets ready to fly over sees.

Don’t ask me why, this will be one of the biggest mysteries of my life, but my brother convinced me that I should stay in the US, and I let him make that decision for me.

Does the fact that I “changed” my decision based on someone else had an impact on MY life? You bet it did! More than I would ever care to tell on this post. While I am OK now, making the decision to stay brought me a lot of pains and sufferings over the falling years. To some extent, to this day, I am still paying the price today of that decision made for me by my brother 10 years ago.

Do Not Let Anyone Make Decisions for You

If you let anyone make a decision for you, you will be the one paying for the consequences of such decision, not them. No one should ever let anyone else make a decision for them. 9 times out of 10 it will be a mistake. I hope that with my own example you can fully appreciate what letting someone else influence your decision can have on your life.

I’ve learned it the hard way, and I would never let anyone make a decision for me anymore. It’s always better to deal with the consequences of your own decision than dealing with the fact that you made such decision because of someone else’s influence. If you do, you are going to beat yourself up quite a few times for having been so blind and not seeing that such decision was never yours to start with, but it became yours when you made the decision to accept someone else’s.

So, what are your thoughts? Is decision making easy to do for you? Is it hard? Please, let us know in the comment area!

However, I thought that now it’s time for me to offer something new to my readers, and here it is!

Based on the 13 steps of success from Think and Grow Rich, I have written an easy to follow manual of 30 pages to help you understand better how all this works and how to apply such steps into your life.

Before you leave this post make sure you get my free eBook “The 13 Steps To Attract Everything You Want”, which you can find on the right hand side of this blog or down below at the end of this post.

A Student of the Law of Attraction For Six Years

I have been a student of the law of attraction since 2006, and I have to say that the understanding of this magnificent law of the universe has changed my life forever. Of course the existence of the law of attraction didn’t start to exist in 2006 in my life, it was there all along, but it’s my understanding of it that changed my life.

When you have been spending your life wondering things like why can’t I manifest what I want in my life? Why can’t I get a good job even thought I qualify for it? Why can’t I find the right partner? Why don’t I have a true friend? Why can’t I find a way to be successful? Why am I such an under-achiever even though I have talents, etc… When you don’t have the answers to those questions, you start to wonder.

You feel that something is completely off, but you have no idea why and even less how to fix it. I came to a point where I was really depressed and felt that I was a lost cause with no way out. So, you can imagine, when I started learning about the law of attraction and the subconscious mind, what a revelation it was for me. So, yes, it really changed my life.

Growing up Without Being Aware of the Law of Attraction

The Law of attraction is a theme that is “thankfully” becoming more and more popular all over the world. When I grew up, however, I had never heard anyone around me, ever mentioning such thing. I grew up in an environment where having total control over your life and fate was something too good to be true.

My mother had a lot of superstitions passed on to her by her own mother and as any superstitious person she was more controlled by it than she was in control of her life. I lost my father who died in a car crash at the age of 34 when I was 5 and my brother 2. Even though my mother has always been a strong woman on one hand, she was also very depressed and had a nerves break down after my father’s death which lasted a long while.

When you are 5 years old and have just lost your father in something as swift as a car crash and see your depressed and sad widow mother trying to make it to the end of the day, your self-confidence doesn’t run very high

Now, I am not saying this to try to sound like the poorest little girl in the world, I had an overall happy childhood and I was spoiled like a brat, but we had few very difficult years, emotionally. As a matter of fact, those few years being some of the most important years of my childhood have affected my whole life.

Becoming Aware of the Law of Attraction

It’s probably because of this lack of control in my life and the fact that I wanted to understand “why” all of this was happening to me that in my early twenties, I started to look for answers and was attracted by personal development materials.

The first book that I read about the laws of the universe was a book by Catherine Ponder. It was the first time that I was learning about the power of the mind and how one can start taking control of their life. This was the first time I read such a book and it’s where I learned for the first time as well what a vision board was and how to create one.

However, it was going to be another dozen years before I really get introduced to the law of attraction in a manner that I could really understand it, and start really applying such knowledge in my life. Even though I was somehow introduced to this concept twelve years earlier, I was not ready to embrace it fully.

It was always on the back of my mind, however, ready to be awaken again when I would be ready. This happened in the spring of 2006 when I started to work from home as a network marketer.

Today, I have the immense pleasure of teaching the law of attraction to the ones who are not familiar with it.
